Hey Friends, missed you!

Hey friends,
Well long time no talk. haha. I fell off my blogging bandwagon about 10 years ago when we moved back to Texas. It was quite a whirl wind of an experience, but I am happy to say we live back in west Texas not exactly where we grew up, but about an hour and half away. We now have 3 boys. I'll get into my infertility journey another time. But, I thought I would let peek back into this world again. I am really thinking about starting up a website or try to get into blogging a little more. I have a Facebook group called Modern Day Homesteading with Lindsey I started when the whole quarantine thing happened. Which was ultimately started when I began blogging 11 years ago. But kind of morphed into homesteading. Before homesteading was popular and blogging. haha Anywho, here we are lets start this thing up again!
Much love,
Lindsey

Project 2010

This is what I made 2 days ago!

I made this apron out of an old tea towel that Mr.T's Grandmother gave us for christmas last year. Ok ok so you thinking last christmas? Yes, last christmas. Its kind of a funny story. Here it goes. Mr.T's Grandma gave us a box last christmas, on the box it said "Do not open untill 1/1/10." So, we didn't opened it untill 10/30/10. Yes, you saw it right 10/30/10. We kinda forgot about it. Oops! Mr. T's parents came into town last week and said y'all need to open that soon. So, we did and this is one of the things she gave me. An old tea towel. The first thing I said was I'm making this into an apron! And, I did...I really like it a lot! The fabric is from the scrap material I had from my quilt I made. (I'm finially getting to the binding you'll see pics when I'm finished with it.) I used Missouri Star Quilt Companie's tea towel apron tutorial online. I LOVE that website its the bomb! They also have great deals on their Daily Deal website.

And, this is Mr. T's baby!! Well project in process

This is going to be a headboard for our bed. He isn't totally done with it yet. He is going to put red wood behind it....he's such a good daddy and hubby!

PS Braydon had to get shots today : ( poor baby he didn't like it at ALL!!!! Lol he's quite the drama king!! lol The girls in the doctors office thought he was dieing...lol not really, but I sware it sounded like it. It was quite hillarious...kinda in a feel bad for him, but know he's being SO dramatic kinda way.

Pumpkin patch here we come!!!

Well Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch! It was lots of fun kinda chilly (glad we took our jackets). Braydon really enjoyed it. Showered on us for a sec.
He was totally into at first!

Then not so much after they got back. He said it was bumpy! haha

Then we rode the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch
They picked the perfect pumpkin

In Braydon's words "Its so heavy for me!"

                                                         Maize Maze!!!

He was off to the races....the duck races that is!

He loved shooting this thing. It was a pumpkin shooter thing. Pretty cool I was afraid he was going to shoot the kid working it haha

Favorite place when Fall comes Around!!! LOVE IT!!

Quilt top finished!!!

So, on the 20th I finished my first quilt I designed, cut, sewed all by myself!! With the help of Missouri Star Quilt Company's start to finish baby quilt tutorial. They have great tutorials if you are learning to quilt, and don't want to go fork up big bucks to go to a class. This is my new found hobby, and I love it. It look me about a year to finally get the guts to pick out fabric and sit down, and sew by myself. I learned how to sew my first stitch about a year ago as well. My unbiological Grandma taught me how to cut with a rotary cutter. She taught me how to make an apron. I also bought my first sewing machine about a year ago as well. Singer Simple it was like 50 bucks at walmart. I had a gift card so it actually cost me nothing. So, glad I got it I just wanted one that I could start sewing on, not complicated just a sit down and sew. And, for its debut!!! Here it is in all its glory!!!!
The corners are NOT lined up very well, and the borders are kinda lumpy. Oh well at least I finished it. Now on to basteing, quilting, and binding it. Hopefully I'll be getting that done this next week. I HAVE TO start on Christmas gifts. This was originally was going to be give as a gift, but I changed my mind. It has all the colores in my house, and its my first so its staying with me. : )

Also, I love fall!!! Here is my autumn maple!! LOVE IT!!! It dropped its leaves yesterday though.

Fertility Business once again!!

Well I haven't updated on my getting prego stuff yet, so I guess I'll start again.

I started my Metformin again BLAH!! I hate that stuff it makes me SO sick to my stomach for the first month, but oh well I just need to suck it up because it'll all be well worth it in the end. So, its been a week that I started it so next week I have to take 2 a day. And, then it'll hopefully make me ovulate. Cross your fingers, get to prayen because last time I started taking this stuff it helped me with in 2 months we got prego, but then miscarried. But, the good thing was I actually got prego. So, we will see!!

This weekend we are hopefully going up to Colorado to see the leaves changing! Hopefully Mr. T said he might have to work : ( So, if we do get to I'll post so awesome pics!! I heart Colorado!! But, deep down I miss good ole Texas!

BTW I made Pioneer Women's Chicken Fried Steak last night it was delish. With homegrown picked straight from my garden mashed potatoes, and green beans (not picked from my garden). My honey has really been working LONG hours like from 4:30 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday till Saturday. That was last weeks hours. So, I thought I would make something that he would really enjoy. It was the first time I've ever made chicken fried steak. I'm doing this thing with one of my teachers from jr. high on Facebook where we make at least one dish a week that we haven't ever made. I think it'll be fun kinda mix things up. I did my menu planning and next week we will be having shrimp creol!! Yummmmmyyyy

He's like well I guess that means I need to take him! I said Yes Yes you do he needs some Daddy time. So, Mr. T. was at Walmart getting his fishing license and gets Braydonut a new fishing pole and reel. Its called an Ugly Stick. Totally love it!! haha I used it and was like ok I'm getting a pink one of thes. Anywho, we went out to one of our friends house who lives on the Animas River. And, we'll this is what we caught!
I had the catch of the day whoot whoot!!! Kinda felt bad because Braydonut didn't get anything oh well thats life! haha
But, anywho I documented his first real time fishing here ya go!

He started practicing the night before trying to get the float in a 5 gallon bucket! SO redneck not going to lie!! haha
My boys chillin
His first time in a bait shop! He was so proud of those worms!
First time casting by himself!

This reminds me of an old man sitting in his chair drinking a cold one watching the fish! haha
And, then keeping it real Braydon got mad for some reason threw the pole down into the river and cried! He has a majoy temper on him we are trying to get him out of that business!!
Daddy giving him a come to Jesus talk haha
